Earlier, the Kyrgyz Ministry of Health ordered that all students be transferred to accredited universities.
The Ministry of Health clarified that repeat accreditation of medical universities is planned but is not currently being conducted, and no possible dates have been announced.
A total of 34 higher education institutions in Kyrgyzstan had been providing medical training, including 12 state and 22 private universities. Under current legislation, three universities were not subject to state accreditation.
Only 24 educational institutions applied to undergo the accreditation process. At the same time, 13 medical universities in Kyrgyzstan failed to obtain accreditation and are not authorized to continue training students.
As a result, only 14 universities are currently authorized to provide medical education.
